Pearson Island is the largest island in the Investigator Group, roughly 70 km southwest of Elliston off the west coast of Eyre Peninsula. The island hosts a substantial breeding colony of endangered Australian sea lions, and the surrounding reefs support kingfish, snapper, leatherjackets and dense sponge habitat. Reef topography is dominated by granite boulders and caverns. Access is charter-only and trips run multi-day from Eyre Peninsula ports. The Pearson Island rock-wallaby and a breeding fur seal colony also use the island.
