Bremer Bay, WA
Orca encounters at the Bremer Canyon (50 kilometres offshore, depths past 1,000m) run January through April and operate as surface-snorkel or in-water charter trips rather than scuba dives, with sperm whales, pilot whales and giant squid surface activity also recorded. Inshore dive sites along the Bremer coastline cover granite headlands, sponge gardens and kelp forest in 10-30 metres of water with the southern temperate species mix: blue groper, harlequin fish, leafy seadragons. Charter infrastructure is small but growing as the orca tourism industry establishes.
