About SS Zealandia
Built in 1910, the Zealandia carried passengers and cargo across the Tasman for three decades before being taken into military service. Hit during the first wave of the Darwin attack, she sank in the outer harbour and now lies in two main sections at depths of 18 to 24 metres. Hull plating, deck winches, cargo holds and the boilers are recognisable under sponge and coral growth.
